First, it should be clear what kind of resin is used to make water-based paint

The classification of water-based resins is very clear. The functions, functions and prices of various resins vary or vary greatly, which directly affects the quality, function, effect and cost of water-based coatings. Therefore, we must select products that can meet our own needs.

Second, the basic inspection of water-based paint products

1) taste: it is not allowed to have intense pungent taste, strong alcohol smell and fierce peculiar smell. As the taste is determined by additives, it is necessary to guard against swindling and unqualified waterborne paint.

2) emulsion properties: generally transparent to milky white, do not take thick and thick (that is, viscosity) to determine the quality of products, after all, thicker is determined by lower cost thickeners, the key is color and viscosity samples to match.

3) dispersibility: look directly at the product milk in the package

Liquid, non deposition, uniform dispersion for the top grade, which can reduce the difficulty of use or prevent product degeneration, except for individual products with special design.

III. test and inspect the water-based paint and its film function

1) grindability: dry sandpaper grinding requires dusting and non stick sandpaper, otherwise, sandpaper consumption will be greatly increased, and the smoothness of polished paint film will be reduced, which will affect the coating quality.

2) yellowing resistance: coating on glass or white porcelain, after drying, expose to the sun for more than 3 days or shine under the ultraviolet lamp for more than 4 hours. Observe the yellowing of the paint film. The smaller the yellowing, the better, and no yellowing is better.

3) surface drying time: temperature ≥ 5 ℃, humidity ≤ 80%, surface drying time ≤ 10 minutes under the condition of normal air circulation, otherwise, it is easy to get stuck with dust, dry and slow, difficult to polish, lengthen recoating time and extend the operation process, and the longer the surface drying time, the more difficult it is to use.

4) adhesion: 7 days after the coating is finished and dried, use an artist's blade and a ruler to draw out a small grid of 10x10 and about 1mmx1mm. After being fixed with transparent tape, pull it up with force. If it is less than 3 grids, it is recommended that one should not be removed. Of course, the standard method is to test it with a 100 gauge knife and 3M dry adhesive.
